Thanks to a pair of powerful performances from Todd Frazier and Noah Syndergaard, the Mets secured a series victory over the Rockies in their 6-1 win. Everything broke right for the Mets as their hitting and their pitching both came through this afternoon.
Coming off of three lackluster starts, Noah Syndergaard had little issue shutting down the Rockies, only allowing one hit in seven innings of work while striking out seven. The bullpen was a bit less successful as Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect eighth, but Hector Santiago ran into trouble when he got the ball for the ninth when a Charlie Blackmon walk and a David Dahl double pushed across the Rockies’ only run in the top of the ninth.
On the offensive side of things, Todd Frazier stole the show again with a three-run home run home run in the first and an RBI double in the fifth, just for good measure. Carlos Gomez and J.D. Davis each added an RBI of their own en route to the 6-1 triumph.
Full recap to follow.
