The Mets beat the Marlins 4-2 this evening in Miami, as Noah Syndergaard went seven innings, Michael Conforto got the Mets’ scoring started with a two-run home run, and Robinson Cano hit a two-run home run of his own in the top of the eighth to give the Mets a late lead that they didn’t relinquish.
Conforto’s home run came in the top of the third, and Syndergaard gave up the only two runs of his start in the bottom of the fourth. In his seven innings of work, he struck out nine, didn’t walk anybody, and gave up five hits. And Seth Lugo and Edwin Diaz threw a scoreless inning apiece to seal the Mets’ victory.
