Final Score: Mets 6, Marlins 2 - Don’t ya’ know

Robinson Cano had a great day in an easy Sunday win.

The Mets got a rare Sunday-afternoon win, rolling over the Marlins 6-2. Jacob deGrom wasn’t at his best in this one, but fought his way through five innings of one run ball. Justin Wilson tossed a scoreless inning before Jeurys Familia struggled, but Seth Lugo bailed him out with a strikeout and a groundout. Robert Gsellman closed out the win.

Offensively, the Mets benefited from several defensive miscues by an undisciplined Marlins team. Robinson Cano had the most impressive offensive performance of the day, going 4-for-5 with a homer and a double. While his season line still isn’t what the Mets hoped to see, the veteran has shown signs of life of late. Michael Conforto continued to slump, meanwhile, and it’s fair to wonder if his back is still bothering him.

Full recap to follow.
