Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (53-54)
SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 5, SYRACUSE 4 (BOX)
Syracuse lost in heart-breaking fashion, rallying back late before ultimately losing in walkoff fashion to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders. Chris Mazza got the start and was solid for the first five innings, allowing only one run. A home run from Braxton Lee and an RBI single from Luis Guillorme built a 3-1 lead, but it all came apart for Mazza in the sixth. He faced five batters and recorded only one out, surrendering three runs in the process and putting the Mets in a 4-3 hole. That score would holduntil the ninth , when the Mets loaded the bases on three singles with no outs. Unfortunately, they only managed one run from the opportunity, with Travis Taijeron scampering home on a wild pitch to tie the game. The tie didn’t last long, however, as Jacob Rhame allowed a walkoff home run to the second batter he faced in the bottom half.

HAGERSTOWN 5, COLUMBIA 1 (BOX)
The Fireflies had more strikeouts than hits in a one-sided loss to the Hagerstown Suns. Bryce Hutchinson got the start and gave up four runs in five innings, with an error from Guillermo Granadillo in left making one of them unearned. Jose Moreno would give up another run in relief, but the Fireflies never rallied to make it matter. Third baseman Brian Sharp was the only Firefly to have more than one hit, with Granadillo registering the lone RBI. Mark Vientos went hitless in four at bats with a strikeout, while Shervyen Newton did the same in three at bats and added an error to boot.
