*All results from games played on August 29, 2019

Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (73-63)

SYRACUSE 2, LEHIGH VALLEY 0 (BOX)

The Mets offense was bolstered by the long ball, with Jed Lowrie hitting a solo shot in the fifth inning, and Rymer Liriano adding one of his own in the eighth. That proved to be more than sufficient for the Syracuse pitching staff. Ervin Santana spread five hits over six scoreless innings, and a trio of Nick Rumbelow, Stephen Nogosek, and Tyler Bashlor allowed just two base runners over three innings to finish off a tidy win.

ROSTER ALERT: Syracuse Mets activated RHP Ervin Santana from the temporarily inactive list.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (35-29/29-42)

PORTLAND 4, BINGHAMTON 0 (BOX)

Binghamton got into a first inning hole that they could not climb out of. Tylor Megill gave up three runs in the first inning, and that basically sealed the game before it got started. The Binghamton offense strung together just three hits throughout the game, and walked just a single time. The bats were simply cold in the loss.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Tylor Megill assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from St. Lucie Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: Binghamton Rumble Ponies placed RHP Mickey Jannis on the temporarily inactive list.

Advanced-A: St. Lucie Mets (32-34/36-32)

ST. LUCIE 3, DAYTONA 0 (BOX)

Colin Holderman, Darwin Ramos, Ezequiel Zabaleta, and Marcel Renteria combined to throw a gem, giving up just six hits and walking three in a shutout. They were dominant, and made the offense’s day easy. The offense did what they needed to,scoring three to win comfortably. Wagner Lagrange drove in the first run with an RBI single in the first inning, and Carlos Cortes put the finishing touches on the game with a two-run double in the fifth.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Tylor Megill assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from St. Lucie Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Colin Holderman assigned to St. Lucie Mets from Columbia Fireflies.

Low-A: Columbia Fireflies (24-42/28-36)

HICKORY 5, COLUMBIA 1 (BOX)

Columbia’s bats were all but silent in this one, amassing just three hits in the loss. The pitching struggled as well, as starter Justin Lasko gave up two runs in the third inning, and Christian Tripp gave up three runs in the fifth in relief. That was too steep a hole for the Fireflies to climb out of, as they scratched across just one run on a Ronny Mauricio sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Nick MacDonald assigned to Columbia Fireflies from Kingsport Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Christian Tripp assigned to Columbia Fireflies from Brooklyn Cyclones.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Colin Holderman assigned to St. Lucie Mets from Columbia Fireflies.

ROSTER ALERT: Columbia Fireflies placed RHP Willy Taveras on the 7-day injured list.

Short-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (40-31)

ABERDEEN 12, BROOKLYN 3 (BOX)

Brooklyn took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the first, with the first run scoring on a Wilmer Reyes single, and the second on a double steal that saw Reyes steal seond and Jake Mangum steal home. It all came crashing down from there, as Nathan Jones and Cory Gaconi surrendered a whopping ten runs in two innings, including eight runs in the first inning alone. Brooklyn could not make the mountain sized comeback, as they sputtered to a 12-3 loss.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Reyson Santos assigned to Brooklyn Cyclones from Kingsport Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: OF Kenedy Corona assigned to Brooklyn Cyclones from GCL Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Matthew Allan assigned to Brooklyn Cyclones from GCL Mets.
