Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Mets fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

Coming off a four-game sweep of the Diamondbacks, the Mets had put themselves right back into the race of the second Wild Card spot in the National League. But they followed that exciting series up by losing two of three to the Dodgers, and the series finale was a heartbreaker that saw them lose 3-2 after leading 2-1 late. The results of that weekend series factored into this week’s edition of FanPulse, which had 38 of respondents saying they were confident in the direction of the team and 14 percent expressing approval of Mickey Callaway’s performance as manager.

Both of those numbers were up from the previous week, which saw rates of 30 and 14 percent, respectively. They weren’t exactly dripping with optimism, though.

On the national level, fans were asked which playoff team would be the biggest letdown once the playoffs arrive. The Yankees topped that poll at 36 percent, while the Dodgers came in a close second at 34 percent.
