On Saturday night, Pete Alonso hit his 53rd home run of the season, breaking the previous record for home runs hit by a rookie in a major league season by one. He finished the season at 53, and with everything in the books, our friends over at BreakingT came up with a sharp shirt to celebrate his record.

Alonso finished his rookie season with a .260/.358/.583 line, 53 home runs, a 143 wRC+, and 4.8 fWAR. On top of making him the obvious favorite for the National League Rookie of the Year award, that put Alonso right up there with the best first basemen in the game. And he led the major leagues in home runs, broke the Mets’ franchise record of 41 home runs weeks ago, and was humble, enthusiastic, and genuinely appreciative along the way.
