The Mets lost an extremely drawn out Sunday matinee.

Continuing their tradition of being awful on Sundays, the Mets dropped their final matchup with the Phillies 10-7. Noah Syndergaard struggled for five innings, and a poorly managed, poorly constructed bullpen was punished once Thor left the game. The offensive performance was also extremely disappointing despite the seven run total, as the Mets squandered numerous chances in the middle and late innings. Wilson Ramos and Robinson Cano both went deep, and Jed Lowrie made his season debut as a pinch hitter in the ninth.

The loss drops the Mets to 72-70, and they remain four games back of the Cubs in the wild card race. They’ll start a four game set with the surging Diamondbacks on Monday, who sit 2.5 games in front of the Mets in the standings.

Full recap to follow.
