The Mets designated Hunter Strickland for assignment and called up Daniel Zamora to take his place.
The Mets also placed Eduardo Nunez on the 10-day injured list yesterday and called Brian Dozier up to replace him on the roster. Dozier chose to sign with the Mets, at least in part, because of how seriously the team is taking health protocols. He will wear number 15 with the Mets.
Dozier also opened up about his reasons for requesting his release from the Padres earlier this month.
The Mets finally received some clarity on the knee injury that has kept Jed Lowrie out of action since spring training 2019. Lowrie was diagnosed with PCL Laxity, and the Mets are unsure if he will need to have surgery to correct it.
Marcus Stroman is reportedly scheduled to face live hitters for the first time since being placed on the 10-day IL on July 22 with a torn calf.
The Mets have upgraded to a bigger charter plane to help better their social distancing efforts while traveling.
