Final score: Marlins 3, Mets 0—Double trouble

The Mets were shut out in the second game of their doubleheader, too.

Coming off a game in which they were shut out by the Marlins earlier in the evening, the Mets got shut out by the Marlins again in the second seven-inning game of their Tuesday evening doubleheader and lost, this time 3-0.

Seth Lugo was outstanding in three perfect innings of work in his first start in over two years, striking out five along the way. But the Mets’ bats were unable to score any runs, and the Mets’ bullpen gave up three in its three innings of work—a fourth made unnecessary by the fact that the Marlins were the home team in this game.
