Amed Rosario sent a hanging Aroldis Chapman slider to the left field porch in the bottom of the seventh inning, walking off the Yankees in the second half of a doubleheader.

After an approximately 90-minute rain delay between doubleheader games in the Bronx, the Mets came out hot scoring on a Dominic Smith single in the top of the first. A Brandon Nimmo RBI double in the fifth brought the deficit to one, and the Rosario pinch-hit home run finished off the night.

David Peterson pitched a scoreless first, second, and fourth inning, but gave up all three Yankee runs on a three-hit, three-walk third inning. Jeurys Familia, Brad Brach, and Jared Hughes all pitched scoreless innings out of the bullpen to hold the 1-run deficit, and a Jeff McNeil walk in the bottom of the seventh set up the eventual walk-off.
