Meet the Mets
The day after the best player to ever wear their uniform passed away, the Mets came from behind to defeat the Yankees in extra innings. J.D. Davis tied the game at 7-7 with a solo shot off of Aroldis Chapman in the bottom of the ninth. Edwin Diaz pitched a second scoreless top of the tenth to keep the game tied, and Pete Alonso hit a majestic two-run homer in the bottom of the tenth to give the Mets a 9-7 victory over their crosstown rivals.
