Meet the Mets

Joey Lucchesi had a strong start against the Marlins as he continues to fight for the final rotation spot, and his “churve” could make him stand out from the others.

Dominic Smith was a late scratch from the lineup with wrist soreness but manager Luis Rojas was not too concerned about it.

Steven Tarpley had another good outing and is making a case for himself to make the team out of the bullpen.

Albert Almora Jr. and Kevin Pillar give the Mets real depth and options in the outfield this season. Almora especially has looked great so far which could be because of a reunion with Chili Davis who was his hitting coach in Chicago.

Luis Rojas has liked what he has seen so far in camp and the added element of what Francisco Lindor brings to the clubhouse.

J.D. Davis is also pleased with how the spring has gone and thinks he has improved his defense at third base.

Pete Alonso looks like the Pete Alonso from 2019 which bodes well for the 2021 team.

Come Opening Day, what will the Mets lineup look like?

The Wilpons are selling again, but this time it is their townhouse in Manhattan which is listed at $25 million.

Around the National League East

Charlie Morton had a good start for the Braves but they fell to the Orioles 5-2.

The Marlins walked off the Mets on a home run by Joe Dunand.

Both Zach Eflin and Spencer Howard are experiencing back spasms for the Phillies, but manager Joe Girardi thinks they should be ready for Opening Day.

After a long battle with COVID-19, Eduardo Rodriguez was named Boston’s Opening Day starter.

Baseball players were seeing green on St. Patrick’s Day, but when did the special uniforms first appear?

The Cardinals are expected to compete for the division title, but with injuries to their rotation they may have an uphill climb on their hands.

With Zack Britton needing surgery, the Yankees will need Jonathan Loaisiga to step up in order to keep their bullpen as a strength of the team.
