With just one day left until the start of the 2021 regular season, the clock is rapidly ticking for Francisco Lindor to ink an extension with the Mets.

For better or worse, owner Steve Cohen weighed in on the issue on Twitter yesterday, proclaiming he hopes Lindor signs, while Pete Alonso wants to pay him $400 million.

Under Steve Cohen, the Mets are looking to build “a pitching powerhouse” and revamp their pitching development.

Speaking with members of the media on Tuesday, manager Luis Rojas announced the starting rotation for the beginning of the season. After Jacob deGrom on Opening Day, it’ll be Marcus Stroman, followed by David Peterson, Taijuan Walker, and then back to deGrom.

Darryl Strawberry says that if Lindor does not sign an extension before Opening Day, it is a huge gamble he is taking.

While many are picking the Mets to be a top team in the NL East, the team says it means nothing right now, and that they have a huge target on their backs.

The Mets as a team aren’t the only ones shouldering big expectations, as David Schoenfield predicts a very big season from Jacob deGrom.

The big move of the day for the Mets on Tuesday was that they brought back Tommy Hunter on a minor league deal.
