Final Score: Mets 2, Rockies 1-The Stro show on the road

Marcus Stroman was excellent once again and got the Mets back on track.

MLB: New York Mets at Colorado Rockies Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Mets defeated the Rockies 2-1 to take the series in Colorado. Shockingly enough, runs were once again at a premium in the final game at Coors. The Mets offense never really clicked but they got enough hits to scratch out a couple of runs. Their two runs came on a groundout by Jeff McNeil in the second and a RBI hit by J.D. Davis that was set up by a Rockies error in the fourth.

That was all Marcus Stroman needed who was brilliant in eight innings. He outpitched Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela who was also solid. Stroman gave up just one run on three hits and struck out five. There was even a moment of levity when he made an incredible play and practically rolled it over to Pete Alonso at first to get the out.

It was up to Edwin Diaz to nail down the save and after a long out to Brandon Nimmo to left for the second out Trevor Story singled to put the tying run on base. With Charlie Blackmon up, Story attempted to steal second and James McCann threw an absolute strike to second to nail him and end the game.

Full recap to follow.
