Meet the Mets
Sure, Jacob deGrom gave up a run last night, and the loss goes next to his name, but he did not lose the game. The Mets lost the game when, collectively, they all fell apart as an offense yet again. They made Nick Pivetta look more like Jacob deGrom than deGrom himself did in this game. They mustered just two hits and got shut out, which means they scored all of one run in a two-game series. Mercifully they have the day off before heading to Philadelphia for a weekend series with the Phillies.
