Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (2-11)

LEHIGH VALLEY 7, SYRACUSE 3 (BOX)

The Mets’ upper mining pitching depth underwhelmed in this one, as Syracuse’s brutal start to the season continued. Franklyn Kilome walked three and struck out only two in five innings of work before Sam McWilliams got shelled for five runs in one inning, walking four batters total. Yennsy Diaz was technically charged with the blown save after allowing runners inherited from McWilliams to score, and he allowed another two runs of his own. On the offensive side, Brandon Drury hit a home run and J.D. Davis played four innings at third while going hitless in two at bats.

ROSTER ALERT: OF Cameron Maybin assigned to Syracuse Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Bradley Roney assigned to Syracuse Mets from Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

ROSTER ALERT: OF Sebastian Elizalde assigned to Syracuse Mets from Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

ROSTER ALERT: C Nick Meyer assigned to Syracuse Mets from Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets sent 3B J.D. Davis on a rehab assignment to Syracuse Mets.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (1-11)

ERIE 3, BINGHAMTON 2 (BOX)

Binghamton’s early season struggles continued, as stagnant offense managed only two runs in a loss to the SeaWolves. Thomas McIlraith got the loss after allowing two runs, one unearned thanks to his own error. Binghamton put together a small rally in the ninth, putting three men on base to start the inning and scoring on a wild pitch. Mark Vientos was thrown out trying to score on a ground ball to second however, before Will Toffy struck out to end the game.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Dan Goggin assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from Brooklyn Cyclones

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Dylan Hall assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from St. Lucie Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: C Matt O’Neill assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from St. Lucie Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: LF Matt Winaker assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from Brooklyn Cyclones.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (4-8)

HUDSON VALLEY 4, BROOKLYN 3 (BOX)

Brooklyn’s bullpen coughed up a late lead in a 4-3 loss to the Renegades. Joe Genord put the Cyclones up by one with a two-run home run in the seventh, but Nick MacDonald promptly gave that lead up in the eighth before Andrew Edwards allowed another run in the ninth. Ronny Mauricio had a poor day at the plate - a rarity for him early in the season - but did manage a single, while Brett Baty continued to spray the ball around the field with a pair of singles in four trips.

ROSTER ALERT: LHP Cam Opp assigned to Brooklyn Cyclones from St. Lucie Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: OF LT Struble assigned to Brooklyn Cyclones from St. Lucie Mets.

Low-A: St. Lucie Mets (9-4)

ST. LUCIE 4, PALM BEACH 0 (BOX)

St. Lucie continues to be the lone bright spot in the Mets farm, shutting out Palm Beach to improve to 9-4 on the season. Francisco Alvarez shined at the dish yet again, as did Shervyen Newton - both managed two hits, with the latter adding a walk. Jaylen Palmer, meanwhile, continues to struggle, perhaps overburdened by new defensive duties as the Mets move him around the field. Most importantly, Seth Lugo started this game on a rehab assignment, working a scoreless inning and getting off the field healthy.
