The making of Puppy Avenue 2021!

Help us build the Mets’ roster entirely out of well-matched dogs.

With the Mets in first place in the National League East and the team’s series opener looking incredibly likely to be rained out this evening, we thought it would be a good time to bring back an Amazin’ Avenue classic and have some fun with Puppy Avenue. It’s been a few years since we did this, but as was the case in the past, we’re asking you to help find the very best matches for players on the Mets’ roster. Via old friend Green Man, here’s how it works:

Your task is to scour the internet for pictures of dogs that bear resemblance to players on the 2015 Mets roster. The goal? To create an entire canine roster. Why? Because it’s fun! (DUH!) To add to the madness, there’s no limit as to who is in play, so we can create a dog front office, SNY crew, minor league team, and even rivals as we’ve done in the past.

Once you find a great picture to use, post it in the comments. In the actual Puppy Avenue post on the main page, you’ll be credited for finding the picture! If you really like a picture, go ahead and “rec” it.

For a trip down memory lane, check out Puppy Avenue 2010, Puppy Avenue 2011, Puppy Avenue 2012, Puppy Avenue 2013, Puppy Avenue 2014, and Puppy Avenue 2015. If you want to learn more about why we do this and how it all got started, check out this game thread from 2010.
