Meet the Mets

Taijuan Walker made his All-Star game debut on Tuesday night, pitching in the top of the sixth inning. Walker gave up a solo homer to Mike Zunino, but otherwise recorded three outs in the inning, including a strikeout.

Walker said hearing his family cheer for him as he took the field is something that he wil remember for a while.

Walker also admitted he was trying to strike out every batter he was facing.

The Mets wasted little time in signing their first round draft pick Kumar Rocker. Rocker signed to a $6 million signing bonus, above the $4.74 million slot value of the 10th pick in the draft.
