Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (15-38)

SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 8, SYRACUSE 3 (BOX)

Syracuse had a vey Syracuse game. Thomas Szapucki was bad, Marcel Renteria was worse, and the only offense they could muster came mostly from two home runs by Wilredo Tovar and Cheslor Cuthbert. The rehabbing J.D. Davis was more a passenger in this one as well, walking three times in three plate appearances, but he appears healthy and approaching a return...hopefully.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (19-34)

BINGHAMTON 3, NEW HAMPSHIRE 2 (BOX)

Even though Mark Vientos had a rare off day (hitless with an error), the Rumble Ponies hung on to top the Fisher Cats 3-2. Jake Mangum had the only offensive performance of note, with two hits out of the leadoff spot, and the pitching was more solid than incredible. Call it a good team win if nothing else.

ROSTER ALERT: LF Matt Winaker assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from Syracuse Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: C David Rodriguez assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from Syracuse Mets.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (18-35)

HUDSON VALLEY 9, BROOKLYN 7 (BOX)

A trio of Cyclones homers wasn’t enough to overcome the Renegades, who stormed back against the Brooklyn bullpen. Francisco Alvarez, Brett Baty, and Luke Ritter all went deep ti build a 6-5 lead. That wasn’t enough to keep up, however; the Renegades scored at least one run in every inning except the fifth, and they tied the game in the sixth before retaking the lead in the seventh for good. Jaison Vilera and Bryce Montes de Oca were the primary culprits, but no one on was good today bottom line.

Low-A: St. Lucie Mets (29-26)

ST. LUCIE 8, FORT MYERS 6 (BOX)

A rough start from Luis Moreno put St. Lucie in an early hole, but the Mets were able to rally back and top the Mighty Mussels. Jaylen Palmer had the most productive day, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a steal, and Brandon McIlwain contributed two RBI, a double, a walk, and a steal of his own. That was enough offense for Drake Nightengale and two other St. Lucie relievers, who held down the newfound lead.

ROSTER ALERT: Binghamton Rumble Ponies sent SS Edgardo Fermin on a rehab assignment to St. Lucie Mets.

COMPLEX: FCL METS (4-3)

FCL METS 8, FCL CARDINALS 2 (BOX)

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Joe Cavallaro assigned to FCL Mets from Brooklyn Cyclones.
