Meet the Mets

The Mets played one inning of baseball on Tuesday night before the rain came down on Citi Field and the game was suspended. It will resume today in the second inning at 4:10 as the Mets will play yet another doubleheader.

Marcus Stroman is set to pitch the nightcap tonight while Drew Smith is likely to come into the first game when it is resumed.

Acting General Manager Zack Scott spoke to the media, saying that the Mets have played mediocre baseball for a large part of the season, and this most recent stretch has been worse than mediocre.

In his press conference, Scott also seemed to place the blame on the players for the many injuries that have hit the Mets’ clubhouse this year.

When talking about Noah Syndergaard, Scott suggested that when Syndergaard comes back, it’s more likely that he is pitching out of the bullpen.

The Phillies also experienced a rain delay, though they were able to resume play, as they fell to the Dodgers, 5-0.
