Mets Morning News: Feels like they only go backwards

Meet the Mets

The Mets lost to the Cardinals for the second straight game on Tuesday night, this time in extra-innings, and this time by just one run. It was a game the Mets had many chances to win, and the loss means their slim playoff chances continue to slip further and further away from them.

The Cardinals win over the Mets moved them into the second Wild Card spot while the Padres continued their slide, falling to the Giants for a second straight day.

Seattle’s T-Mobile Park is set to host Major League Baseball’s All-Star game in 2023.

Ryan Braun announced his retirement from baseball after 14 seasons with the Brewers.
