Mets dominated by Corbin Burnes in Milwaukee on night team is officially eliminated from playoffs.

MLB: New York Mets at Milwaukee Brewers Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The crafty Rich Hill matched up against National League Cy Young Award candidate Corbin Burnes in Milwaukee Saturday evening. Hill threw every piece of junk he had in order to keep the Mets in the game, but surrendered a two-run single to Eduardo Escobar to put the Mets in a 2-0 hole they couldn’t dig out from.

The team would get one back against Burnes in the top of the fourth on a Javy Baez RBI single, but could muster nothing else against Burnes or the Brewers bullpen, as Milwaukee inched closed to an NL Central title and the Mets over the edge to official elimination.

Full recap to follow.
