Meet the Mets

Before the game the Mets placed Tomás Nido on the injured list and recalled Patrick Mazeika.

With a long offseason looming, Sandy Alderson met with the media to discuss all of the upcoming decisions this organization will have to make including Luis Rojas and the front office.

Rojas for his part knows his future is up in the air but is at peace with whatever the Mets decide.

Of course decisions will need to be made about upcoming free agents as well, specifically Michael Conforto, Javier Báez, and Marcus Stroman.

Around the National League East

The Braves are now just one win away from clinching the division after defeating the Phillies 7-2.

The Marlins and Mets are both closer to going home at the end of the season but Miguel Rojas put and end to Miami’s losing streak with a hit off Seth Lugo to lead the Marlins to victory.

The Phillies’ playoff hopes have all but evaporated with their loss to the Braves.

The Nationals lost 10-5 to the Rockies in a battle of another two teams with uncertain futures.

Around Major League Baseball

Brewers reliever Devin Williams punched a wall during Milwaukee's celebration after clinching a playoff spot and will now miss the playoffs with a fractured hand.

The Blue Jays defeated the Yankees to cut into their tenuous hold on the Wild Card.

The loss could be doubly painful for the Yankees who lost Joey Gallo after he was hit on the hand with a pitch and will be sent for x-rays.

With the Rays win, they clinched home field advantage as the number one seed in the American League.

Trevor Story said goodbye to the the home crowd at Coors in an emotional final game at home before free agency.
