The Rangers beat the Astros 9-2 last night to force a Game 7 in the ALCS. Nathan Eovaldi delivered another great start for the rangers, Jonah Heim and Mitch Garver both homered, and Adolis García provided the cherry on top with a grand slam in the ninth. Max Scherzer is likely to start Game 7 for the Rangers, taking on Cristian Javier.

Bryan Abreu appealed his two-game suspension. His availability for Game 7 of the ALCS is in doubt pending the result of the appeal.

The speculation in the industry is that Bob Melvin would be a fit for the Giants’ managerial vacancy if he leaves the Padres. The Padres have granted the Giants permission to interview Melvin.
