Going on 10 years as the Mets armchair GM has been a good run. I can't believe how long it has been. The old saying "Father Time remains undefeated" may not apply to me just yet, but it does apply to several members of the 2023 Mets.

Per Baseball-Reference (link) the 2023 Mets had the oldest pitching staff (shocker), and the third oldest position player group. I'm not saying youth is everything, but for a team in transition one of the most obvious things to do is to get younger. So my driving thesis for the 2024 Mets is to get younger. Let's Benjamin Button this Mets team.
