A Pod of Their Own, Episode 171: Rooting for underwhelming teams, a Mets/White Sox series preview

This week on the show, we talk about the Mets coming out of the deadline listless and chat with some of our favorite White Sox fan friends about this week’s series.

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.

This week, we begin by discussing the Mets’ winning streak and then subsequent downturn. We talk about the Mets being firmly sellers and what pieces they might trade come the end of the month.

In the second half of the show, we have some our White Sox friends on to commiserate about rooting for underwhelming teams and rooting for teams that willingly employ abusers.

Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.
