Earlier this week, Carlos Beltran announced his retirement. The former Mets outfielder, who is undoubtedly one of the greatest position players in the team’s history, penned his farewell—”Muchas Gracis Béisbol”—at the Players’ Tribune. And that’s where the inspiration for this new shirt from our partners over at BreakingT came from.
In addition to the shirt literally saying thanks to Carlos Beltran, we’ll donate the entirety of our cut of the proceeds from selling this shirt—via our referral link—to Beltran’s hurricane relief fund for Puerto Rico.
Beltran spent nearly seven full seasons with the Mets and had the best years of his career from 2006 through 2008, as he hit .278/.372/.537 with a 135 OPS+ as he won a Gold Glove award in each of those seasons for his play in center field. He’s deserving of a spot in the Hall of Fame, and the game of baseball was better—on and off the field—because of Beltran.
