In the second game of the Mets’ August 5th doubleheader against the Marlins, Gary Cohen quoted Bruce Springsteen’s “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out,” referring to Michael Conforto and Pete Alonso as ‘Scooter and the Big Man.’ This wasn’t the first time Cohen has used the phrase, but Conforto and Alonso’s back to back jacks capped off a fun comeback win in what is shaping up to be a really fun summer of Mets’ baseball.

And now, you can own a t-shirt commemorating two of the Mets’ finest young players with a Scooter and the Big Man t-shirt from the fine folks at BreakingT.

I NEED THAT SHIRT!
The phrase perfectly captures why Cohen is the best play by play broadcaster on television, as it is both a really clever reference to a local hero and a fun play on a weird Mets’ nickname that no one knows the origin of.
So, grab a shirt celebrating the 60+ home runs the pair have already hit this season, and let’s f**king go Mets.
